Greetings to My Readers and a Special Thanks to My Most Generous Supporters
I’m just over three months into my journey on Substack and things are progressing smoothly. For the most part articles are being uploaded on a weekly basis on Wednesdays at 17:00 JST, with the exception of last week where I uploaded a race report on the 26th.
Taper Week
From November 27th I’ve been on a taper week before the upcoming Shonan International Marathon on December 3rd. As much as possible I’ve been trying to de-load and de-stress this week. I’ve been walking a lot but that’s about the extent of my exercise. I caught a bit of a cold but I’m hoping to be able to fight that off before the run on Sunda.
November Milestone Housekeeping
I’m continuing to keep my articles on Substack free, with the exception of these monthly milestone posts. Paid subscribers aside, I’m totally self funded with all the activities that go on. Costs for race entries, transport, accommodation, and (one day) a new sword add up. I mentioned in my article Achievable vs audacious goals that I entered the Challenge Fuji Five Lakes Ultramarathon (118 km) in April 2024. I paid off the race/hotel/transportation fees and those fees made me cringe a little.
I’ll be doing this with or without support but for those who choose to send a donation for the work I’m doing I am truly grateful. I always appreciate people who subscribe to this Substack as free subscribers but I’m especially thankful to those who have chosen to set up paid subscriptions or have sent one off donations to me via Buy me a coffee or PayPal. (I included links to those below if you would like to support my work with a one off donation).
The content of this monthly update is summarized below but the details will only be visible to my paid subscribers.
In this Monthly Milestone I’m going to be covering the following:
Substack Stats
Monthly Training Stats
Race/Event Results
Reading List (what I’m currently reading)
Final Thoughts and Hopes for December
Everything beyond this point will be for paid subscribers only. The information will be nicely set out in one place for them but if anyone has any burning questions please feel free to shoot me an email.
